This study explores how community businesses make decisions about when to work autonomously or in partnership with other organisations in the public, private and third sectors.
The research draws on evidence from community businesses in Bradford, Hartlepool and Middlesbrough – exploring the challenges and opportunities of working with different types of organisation.
A central outcome of this research is the importance of understanding the motivations of the organisation you are looking to partner with and for both organisations to be clear and realistic about what you want to achieve.
This resource will be useful to community groups interested in understanding how to build successful relationships with other organisations in their local area.
