Hi all, as part of Renaisi’s role as learning and evaluation partner for the programme we have produced a literature review capturing lessons from existing examples of place based social action and research in the field.
Copies of both the learning review and a briefer executive summary are attached below. We’ve tried to make this a practical resource with lots of examples and insights that will hopefully be helpful to yourselves as you bring your plans together over the next couple of months. We also want it to be something that evolves over the course of the programme and have begun to put together an accompanying spreadsheet of examples of place based programmes past and present that share ambitions with those of yourselves and this programme. The spreadsheet is live, accessible to all of you and we’d love you to add your own examples of projects over time – these can be projects you’ve been involved in or projects you’ve been inspired, they can reflect any approach or scale and be drawn from anywhere – ours are largely drawn from the UK but we’d love to see examples from other countries as well.
We’d also welcome any feedback or discussion on the themes discussed within the review, either as comments below or as part of our next catch up. In the coming days we will also be sharing some guidance notes and presentations – many of which link back to gaps or recommendations identified in the review.
