Community-led housing is a growing movement of normal people taking action and managing housing projects that build decent and affordable homes that the country so desperately needs.

Whether you are from a grassroots community led housing group, an existing community organisation, a local authority, a housing association, or another organisation, you can play a role in making community led housing happen.

The Community Led Homes website is a partnership project between Locality, the Confederation of Co-operative Housing, the National Community Land Trust Network and UK Cohousing.

We have come together to make it easier for communities to access support and build a lasting movement.

Community led housing has many benefits: it provides additional supply of high quality housing which would not be available through the mainstream; mobilises support for new homes; helps to diversify the housing industry; provides choice for older people in need of age- appropriate housing and create homes that people can afford to buy and rent.

Traditional housing models aren’t cutting it. And in response communities are coming together to find their own solutions. Community-led housing is on its way to becoming a mainstream housing option.
