Progress on housing delivery through neighbourhood planning

These papers provide updates on housing delivery progress in areas where neighbourhood plans have allocated sites for new homes. During October 2015 and October 2016, the Department for Communities and Local Government gathered data from local authorities, qualifying bodies and other published sources on all the areas.

October 2015 report

This paper provides an update on housing delivery progress in areas where neighbourhood plans have allocated sites for new homes. During May and June 2015 the Department for Communities and Local Government gathered data from local authorities, qualifying bodies and other published sources on all the areas with a made neighbourhood plans that had both a) allocated housing sites and b) been in force for over six months. 20 plans fulfilled these criteria, but complete data (on Local Plan allocations, neighbourhood plan allocations and local planning permissions) was only available for the 16 areas covered in the case studies below.

October 2016 report

This paper provides an update on housing delivery progress in areas where neighbourhood plans have provided housing numbers. The first edition of this paper was published in October 2015.

During May and June 2016 the Department for Communities and Local Government gathered data from local authorities, qualifying bodies and other published sources on all the areas with a made neighbourhood plans that had both:

  • provided housing numbers
  • been in force for over three months.
