Equality and Diversity in Community Asset Transfer

Yvonne Field, UBELE and Kunle Olulode, Voice4Change present a webinar on key equality issues & tips for engaging more culturally diverse groups in community asset transfer.

Yvonne and Kunle will be exploring some of the key equality issues affecting Black, Asian and Minority Ethnic (BAME) communities within the Community Ownership and Management of Assets programme, and suggesting strategies for how partnerships might engage more culturally diverse groups in community rights.

The recently published report, A Place To Call Home (2015) suggests that the Community Rights agenda is not as inclusive as it could be and that local authorities, community organisations and other key stakeholders need to proactively pursue more creative strategies to ensure less vocal or connected communities are able to access information and influence decisions about community assets.
