Have you ever thought you could run your local library, health or leisure services better than they are currently run? Shaping local services gives you the tools and resources to make a difference in your community.
There are a number of ways that communities can express their views about local services and shape how they are run, including the Community Right to Challenge.
The First Steps programme gives small community groups the freedom to develop action plans to improve their neighbourhood. First Steps areas will receive support to decide upon practical actions to make positive changes in their community.
The Our Place programme involves local partners within a neighbourhood coming together with local people to identify the issues that matter most to them. They must work to develop a plan to tackle these issues and reshape services to better meet their needs.
